Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 17, 2017 – Turkey’s Hande Baladin headlined the Dream Team for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship after guiding her team to glory here in Ljubljana.
Baladin was named the Most Valuable Player and one of the two Best Outside Hitters of the tournament. She totalled 91 points during the course of the seven matches to earn Turkey's first ever U23 World Championship gold medal in history.

“I am overwhelmed with joy, I can’t believe it,” said Baladin after the match. “I am proud of myself and proud of my team. It is the first time in my career I receive such an important award. During yesterday’s semifinal and today’s gold medal clash, I felt much pressure on my shoulders. However, I always gave my best throughout the tournament. That’s what counts in the end.”

Silver medallists Slovenia were represented by Eva Mori as Best Setter, Iza Mlakar as Best Opposite and Sasa Planinsec as one of the two Best Middle Blockers. Bulgaria, the bronze medallists, had Zhana Todorova as Best Libero. Madeline Jazmin Guillen of the Dominican Republic was awarded one of the two Best Outside Hitters.
