We are still not playing our game - Turkey captain Akin

Turkey still need to show their better side, agree captain and coach after win over Kenya.

Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 12, 2017 - Turkey swept Kenya 4-0 in the quickest game so far at the 2017 FIVB Women's U23 World Championship, but both coach and captain agreed that their team have not yet shown their best game in this competition. Here's the reaction from both sides, after the game:

Turkey coach, Ataman Guneyligil: "We made too many easy mistakes. I advised my team to be more focused and not do so many errors, but we did so many of them today. Tomorrow is a free day and we have to focus now on our next two opponents, Japan and Bulgaria. We have not yet shown our style of play. I do not understand this. But we will solve it."

Turkey captain, Cagla Akin: "We are still not playing our game, we make too many mistakes and we have to solve this. We have to concentrate, do less mistakes and play our game."

Kenya coach, Catherine Mabwi: "My team was okay today. Fighting spirit was a bit better than the last match yesterday. The players were able to score quite a number of good points and you could see good plays from them. The only problem that has cost us at this match is that we lost quite a lot of our serves. We lost so many serves. We were able to play well in attacking today."

Kenya captain, Shyrine Jepkemboi: "These are our first international games. In the third set we saw that we can fight Turkey. We played better than yesterday, but we made too many mistakes with our serves and some in reception."

All matches in Ljubljana are played under a new scoring system currently being tested: a best-of-seven, 15-point set format.
