Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 12, 2017 - Egypt came just short of a total comeback when they rallied from three sets down to force a seventh, making Argentina quite happy at scoring their first win at the 2017 FIVB Women's U23 World Championship here on Thursday. Here's the full post-match reaction from both teams:

Argentina coach, Martin Lopez: "In the beginning we played the way we intended to and I think we did very well with blocking. Then Egyptian team began to attack more agressively but in the last set we still managed to perform well and win this game."

Argentina outside hitter, Sol Piccolo: "I think it was a very intense game. At the beginning we did well, then we lost our focus, but then we managed to recover. We are very pleased with the result and hope to do even better in the future."

Egypt coach, Maged Mohamed: "Our team is very tired and we also have problems with injuries. This, and also our lack of experience, affected our performance today. We would do much better without these shortcomings."

Egypt captain, Farida El Askalany: "Our best performance was before all the injuries, so if we could play with the same team we had at the beginning, I think we could win this match. We were not very good in the first few sets but then we had a comeback. Unfortunately it still wasn't enough."

All matches in Ljubljana are played under a new scoring system currently being tested: a best-of-seven, 15-point set format.
