Women’s U23 venues in Ljubljana confirmed

 

Brazil won the 2015 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 17, 2017 - Two halls will serve as the venues for the 12 teams participating in the 2017 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship from September 10 to 17. They are the Dvorana Centre Stozice and the Sportna Dvorana Tivoli, both in Slovenia's capital city, Ljubljana.

The competition, which was initially to take place in Ljubljana and Slovenia's second largest city Maribor, will be divided into two pools of six teams each. The top two teams in both pools will progress to the semifinals and finals.

The U23 World Championship in Slovenia is one of six Age-Group World Championships scheduled to take place this year.

The first event will be the Men's U21s in the Czech Republic from June 23 to July 2. That will be followed by the Women's U20s in Mexico from July 14 to 23. Three competitions will take place in August - the Girls' U18s (August 18-27), Boys' U19s (August 18-27) and Men's U23s (August 18-25) - before the Women's U23s take centre stage in Slovenia in September.
